Well Mother's Day is coming again, and Debi is still making the treks up to see Matt. Hopefully we will see some changes in the next year so that Matt will be home next year. Don't forget Matt in your prayers and thoughts! Maybe we can make it happen. :)

Updates

Angie & Danielle went to see Matt and the nurse said that she woke him up to go to physical therapy and he yelled WHAT! at her haha guess he didnt want to be woke up : )
We are working on some fundraisers, we are looking for a room to do the Scrapbook 12 hour crop again, and might be doing another Comedy night going to try and do that when the snow aint flying lol.
Will keep you updated on those items as soon as we can.

Fall is here already!!

Debi, Heather and I went to the Brain Injury Conference a couple of weeks ago and learned so many things even new options for therapy.
Matt has been given goals each month and exceeds them then they will make more. He still isn't communicating and still on feeding tube, He seems to respond to Debi and Heather which is terrific.
He went to camp which was a great treat, he got to go horseback riding (yep that is what I said haha) he got to go on a pontoon boat. His nurses said he had a great time.

Updates

Well looks like we are seeing some things that are a pretty big deal!!! When I seen Matt at Rehab you could tell he was trying to kick the ball, yeah!! I finally got to see some of the progress everyone else keeps telling me about.
They are starting to teach him different ways to communicate ~ index finger means no and thumbs up means yes and he is actually doing it!!!!
Going to see him tomorrow so hopefully I get to see more of it. Still a long road ahead but just the fact that he is starting to be able to let us know that he is aware is a big deal...

Comedy Night

We want to thank everyone that braved the snow storm the night of the Comedy night benefit. Maybe we will try this one again when it is nicer out. : )
I just got back from vacation in Mexico and heard Matt said Ma while I was gone yeah!!! Going to see him today and will update on him later tonight.
Once again THANK YOU EVERYONE for coming to the Comedy Club.

New Year , Needing New Miracles

Well this is a new year and we sure could use some new miracles for Matt! Keep praying for his recovery. Matt is still having seizures and they are seeking to control them and find out why. He has plateaued in his recovery, hopefully his brain will continue to heal and he will come out of it and kick recovery in it's you know what.
Don't forget we are having the Comedy for a Cause on February 5th, so get your tickets soon. They are 15 dollars each. Make it a date night and go to dinner afterwords, get your ticket back after the show and save 25% off your bill at Kickers!

Comedy for a Cause

We are having a Comedy night for Matthew's Miracles, so for those of you that didn't come to the other events because you don't play kickball, or scrapbook, or bowl well we know Everyone loves to laugh what a better way to get together and all for a great cause! This will fill fast based on the feed back I've been getting so don't wait to get your tickets.
February 5,2011 is the date ~
They are $15.00 each. And the participants get 25%off their food bill at kickers afterwords or 1/2 off pizza during the show. There is a 5 dollar min. each during the show for food/or beverages.
We will have a 50/50 raffle also. Seating begins at 5pm show starts at 5:30 - 7:00
We will sell tickets before the show and pick the winner after wards.
Make it a date night or come out with the girls or guys or by your self we are a friendly group you will have a great time.

WOW What a great Fundraiser

We had such a great day yesterday at the scrapbook fundraiser. Everyone gave so generously. Matt's mom had never been to a scrapbook crop before was in total awe by what she seen so many people coming together for someone 99% of them didn't know but cared enough to attend and give! THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM THE FAMILY!!!

Matt's Birthday was today. Going to see him tomorrow in his new spiffy hair do Heather shaved him today and Amy cut his hair. He is going to kill us when he finds out his mom let his hair grow out ... (we haven't seen him with hair since the 7th grade) LOL
Not a scrapper or crafter.... Well come on out to the crop anyway we will have some raffle items that you could purchase tickets for a chance to win....

We will for donations have ~ Paint your own wine glass with some stencils and some special paint you bake it when you get home to set the paint so it wont come off...

And we are hoping to have some sort of bake sale.

Well the Crop is almost here!

Ok the Crop is almost here, going to today to finalize everything for the room. Donations have been extremely difficult to get so I really want to thank everyone that has sent in items for the raffle tables. Also, want to thank my sister Angie for sending out over 200 emails for them. Thank you!! I would have never had the time...

Matt is still about the same, having seizures, he had a couple great moments last week but nothing else has happened : (( We were hoping that was a turn. We are sure it will be soon, just have to be patient the brain takes so long to heal it has been difficult for the family Please keep him in your prayers.

We will see everyone on the 20th that are coming. And if you can't come to scrap we could use some volunteers
Also if you would like to shop our vendors you are more than welcome to do that we will have raffle tickets for sale and a bake sale.
We are going to have a wine glass painting table set up to. you can paint a wine glass with some stencils and when you go home you bake the glass in the oven to set the paint. We are doing those for donations, I want to thank my sister's girlfriend for buying all the supplies it was not cheap to do that!!

Update

Matt sneezed yesterday and said MOM YEAH and his mom and sister were there to hear it what else can you ask for.... Well, he also during physical therapy Matt palmed a basketball and put it into the hoop twice! Hopefully this is just the beginning of great things to keep coming Im so glad my sister was there to hear him say MOM it is just so great!!!

Updates ~

Matt has been moving his left arm alot lately, even reaching up to scratch his nose and such. Which is a huge thing for him! He has been moaning like he is trying to talk to his Mom and Sister, it gets your heart rate pumping just witnessing it.....

Crop ~
I have extended the registration date to November 10th because of Halloween several people forgot about it so you have till then to register.

Scrapbook Fundraiser

Don't forget to send in your money to register for the 12 hour crop. November 20th in Westland.
For anyone that doesn't scrapbook you could knit, crochet, make jewelry , quilt, so you don't have to scrapbook to attend.
Also, if you want to know how you can help, we still could use snack donations for the ladies at the event if anyone would like to work on that would be greatly appreciated.

Update on Matt

Sorry Everyone been a very busy couple of weeks for me and just didn't get this on here quickly. Matt had the surgery on the 7th with great success! It has relaxed him and they have been able to work on his muscles and joints. But, he has started to has seizures which he might have been having all along we just didn't know it with him being so tense. So they have started him on medication to treat them. Dr.s have said that it could also be the brain healing. He still isn't awake yet.......

Surgery

Matthew is having surgery on Thursday October 7th. We are hoping this the turn that he needs! Please pray for him and that everything goes well.... This is the procedure for his muscle tone they will be messing with his spine.
